GETTING GOLDEN POKEMON



Whenever Golden Day [August 2nd, Christmas, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day] comes closer, the new users who aren’t familiar with the golden day process make hundreds and thousands of threads asking the same question –

“How do I get the golden pokemon?”

Well, this guide will try to clear things up for those people.

What are Goldens?

Golden Pokemon are promos are awarded by Shrimpy on 3 special occasions. These golden pokemon are important and valuable because when one pokemon is “goldenized”, that pokemon will never be obtainable in golden form ever again [Except through buying and trading, of course].

Why do we get Goldens on three specific days?

The three dates on which golden promos are available are –

August 2nd – Shrimpy’s [the administrator] Birthday
December 25th - Christmas
December 31st/January 1st – New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

How do we get Golden Pokemon?

The process of getting the goldens is very simple. The moderators will post 2 sets of several fairly simple riddles on the night of the previous day, and you will have 24 hours to solve those riddles and get your golden. Usually, two pokemon are goldenized in one day, and each has its own set of riddles to follow. You can only choose one pokemon to goldenize. More on the rules later.

There is a specific order in which you place your pokemon on your roster, and there are specific items that are attached to those pokemon. The answer to those riddles will be the pokemon and the items that need to be attached to those pokemon. Once you believe that you have figured the riddle out, then you go to the Evolution Gym and beat it, and if you placed the pokemon and items in the right order, then your starter pokemon will turn gold.

This was how the pokemon and items were set during the day when Vulpix and Poochyena were goldenized last year –

Golden Vulpix.

Slot 1: Vulpix with "Team Boost" attached.
Slot 2: Ledyba with "Silver Powder" attached.
Slot 3: Tauros with "Exp share" attached.

Golden Poochena.

Slot 1: Poochena with "Pink Bow" attached.
Slot 2: Mareep with "Polkadot Bow" attached.
Slot 3: Sudowoodo with "Poison Barb" attached.

Where will the Riddles be posted?

The riddles will be posted one-by-one or in pairs in the "TPPC Announcements" forum. The moderators/Shrimpy will start giving out the riddles around midnight[TPPC Time] on Christmas Eve[December 24, 2007]. Also, there will be a stickied thread in "Sack full of Muk" where all the members can come and try to solve the riddles together! Remember,, a million heads are better than one. ;]

Rules on Golden Day

Since goldens are offered on 3 times a year and they are so valuable, there are a couple of very important rules that you should follow or else the consequences will be dire.

- Only ONE Gold Pokemon is allowed per account.
- Don’t create new accounts just to get extra golds.
- You can get extra golds if you have more than one account as a Storage Account. But only if you didn't create those storage accounts soley for the purpose of gaining extra golds.
Note: If you obtain extra golds through your storage accounts, it will be in your interest that you don’t transfer them to your main account until a week or so.

- If moderators find out that you didn’t follow the rules[and they will find out sooner or later], that will result in a permanent banning of ALL accounts connected to your IP Address.
